IPPC - Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control

An Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Permit is a specialized building permit, as well as an operation permit (either trial or permanent) for operations listed in Annex No. 1 of the Act on Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (related regulations). A permit lays down mainly the conditions and obligations of the operator in relation to construction implementation and use.

The permit is issued by an administrative authority based on an application filled out in line with the recommended template of the Slovak Ministry of Environment, or else the Slovak Environment Inspection (SEI). The application is an extensive document with numerous annexes, the extent of which may vary depending on the type and size of the planned operation (or planned modification). The application includes also a comparison with Best Available Techniques (BAT, www.sizp.sk IPKZ/BREF).
